Forget me not (2019)
Objects, photographs and video

A couple of years ago the Norwegian Industrial Museum invited me to make an art work based on the archives from my grandfather Eyvind Thiis-Evensen. He worked as a doctor in Norsk Hydro for more than 40 years and was a pioneer in occupational health services in Norway. I started my research in the photo archive in search of photographs of my grandfather during his time in Norsk Hydro. I discovered several objects in the photographs that fascinated me, and I was given access to everything that was archived from his office. Through my grandfather, these objects are part of my personal history, but they are also part of a larger history of work, commitments and health.
